Deacon Lawrence Floyd, Jr. came to Aenon Missionary Baptist Church in 1983 after having been relocated by Xerox Corp. to Rochester from Chattanooga, Tennessee.
In 1987 He began teaching Sunday School and was also appointed to the churches Trustee Board.
Deacon Floyd was selected for the Board of Deacons in by Pastor James L. Cherry, Sr. and was ordained in 1992. During this time I also served as Scoutmaster to Troop 198, Boy Scouts of America, chartered to Aenon Missionary Baptist Church.
Deacon Floyd has had the distinct privilege of serving on the pastoral search committee which eventually saw the call of Reverend Dr. Jonathan Jamel H. McReynolds as the Pastor of Aenon.
Deacon Floyd presently serve as the chairman of the deacon ministry.
Deacon Floyd is married to his college sweetheart Pearlie Floyd and they are the parents of three adult children, Anthony, Frankie and Heather and the proud grandparents of Jaquez and Jazzmyne Floyd.
