Making God Look Great

This statement is a thought provoker or an icebreaker.

If you are new to our site, it is meant to cause you to think about the church.  What it additionally does, is cause you to consider Christianity in the context of your relationship with God.

If you have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, you also have some experience with the Grace of God.  You can reflect upon where you have been, and where are and where you are going in Christ.  You live by the motto “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.<Matthew 5:16>”  You can say we make God look Great, because you are the salt of the Earth.  However, it’s not you personally, but God working through you and the members of your church.  Furthermore, when we fail to be loving and forgiving Christians, and instead display fault-finding and self righteous attitudes and live sinful and carnal lives as church members we make God look bad!

If you have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, but you have not fully given him Lordship of your life.  You may have a critical eye on people calling themselves Christians and puffing themselves up.  You may feel that saying “We‘re making God look Great”, is a bit presumptuous.  God is great, he does not need anyone to make him look great.  However, God works through humanity and he uses the least of us to show the world how awesome he is.  We encourage you to allow the Holy Ghost to continue the process of your sanctification through the deliberate application of teachings of Jesus in all aspects of your life.  You will find when you focus on helping others, you will be less likely to be highly critical of your perception of them..

If you had a relationship with God but walked away,  you may think we are deluded because God is not all that an a bag chips.  You may consider the slogan as a marketing ploy to draw in the unsuspecting and take their money.  However, we implore you to actually try him for yourself.  When you test drive a car you don’t just drive it in the dealer parking lot.  You take it on the street and on the expressway to see if it meets your performance criteria.  Try Jesus, and see not just to the point of difficulty, but if you stay with Him you will find that he will stay with you.  Not only will he stay with you, but you will be better for the trials and tribulations that he has carried you through.

If you don’t believe in God, for whatever reason; yet you click the lets discuss this button, God is reaching out to you.  It is his desire that no one be lost. “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of Go our Saviour; who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.<1 Timothy 2:3-4>”.  God does not require blind obedience, but faith and obedience based on a personal relationship with him.  He desires a relationship with you and if you come into relationship and get to know him you know you can trust him.  He truly desires that which is best for you.
